Invite You To Join In Our Online Celebration Of The Mid-Autumn Festival
The Mid-Autumn Festival is one of the most important traditional festival in China. It falls on the 15th day of the 8th month of the lunar calendar, which is exact in the midst of autumn, so-called the Mid-Autumn Festival.
On that night, the moon appears to be at its roundest and brightest. The full moon which symbolizes family reunion and happiness, which is why that day is also known as the Festival of Reunion. Families will gather together to light lanterns, eat moon cakes and appreciate the round moon. For people who living far away from home, will express their feelings of missing their hometowns and families at this festival.
From 28th September to 5th October an online event, “Mid-Autumn Festival: A Moonmoment to Remember”, is to be launched to celebrate the festival. Hosted by the Bureau of International Exchange and Cooperation of China’s Ministry of Culture and Tourism, the activity is jointly organized by the Network of International Cultural Link Entities and China National Tourist Office in Singapore.
The event centers on inheritance of Mid-Autumn Festival, Mid-Autumn Festival culture, contemporary China and Mid-Autumn Festival and travel and leisure during the festival. The activities include online exhibitions and concerts, short video display and live streaming.
